Do I need internet to use THENGA?
No. The app stores everything locally first, so browsing your catalogue, building a basket and placing an order all work without a connection. Orders sync automatically once signal returns. Nothing is lost.
Do I need a POS system to apply for the Spaza Shop Support Fund?
The fund's criteria require bulk buying, a POS capability, digital literacy and credit health. Our compliance module tracks all four so you can evidence them — but please read the current official DSBD requirements yourself, as we are not the authority on the programme.
Is KasieConnect or ZArka a bank account or an investment?
No. KasieConnect is a managed connectivity service. ZArka is a rand-pegged settlement token on the Stellar network used for B2B payment. Neither is a deposit product, and neither is offered as savings or investment.
How do I get a retailer account?
Through the wholesaler you already buy from. In most cases your wholesaler introduces you to THENGA as part of onboarding their retailer network — which is also how your catalogue and stock information becomes accurate.
Where are you operating?
We are in pilot mode with a defined corridor in and we are deliberately not claiming national coverage. Delivery, support and settlement economics are all corridor-specific, so we would rather add an area honestly than open it optimistically.
Are your market figures audited?
Our market figures come from published third-party sources and each one is attributed on our market evidence page. Our own forward-looking numbers are labelled as management projections derived from an operating model — they are not audited results and not a forecast of return.
